Engage and Empower: Improving Confidence, Motivation & Communication Skills

This one-day course provides an understanding of a whole range of techniques that can be used to engage & empower. It provides techniques & skills for support workers who want to inspire their customers to take control of their lives & choices.

Aims
Participants will understand the following concepts in practical terms:

  • Techniques for raising customer motivation & self awareness
  • The process of change
  • Behaviour – how patterns are formed & how they can be broken
  • The power of thoughts
  • Effective listening skills
  • Effective communication skills – including conflict resolution & assertiveness

Who should attend?

This course is aimed at all workers who undertake direct support work with clients as part of their role. It is applicable to staff who are new to the role (or are hoping to move into a client support role) & to those who want to expand, update or refresh their skills.

This course is also suitable for current or potential managers who want to improve their communication skills and learn techniques for raising staff motivation.

This course is suitable for up to 16 trainees.
