Leadership and line management of the Service Design Team. Working closely with Policy, Operational Policy, Māori Housing, Data and Evidence, and Contract Management, external stakeholders and other partners to translate policy into practice. Designing interventions to enable Whānau and individuals to improve their housing stability. Contributing to the achievement of HUD’s vision of homelessness in NZ being rare, brief and non-recurring. Accountability for several initiatives from the NZ Homelessness Action Plan. Representing HUD on a number of governance and steering groups. Ensuring the Māori and Iwi Housing Innovation framework underpins all work and is central to the way that we work, anchored in our commitment to Te Tiriti. Taking a place based approach and applying human centred design thinking.
Key achievements include:
• Continuing the expansion, procurement and operational application of Housing First in NZ
• Oversite and governance of a joint housing support program, in partnership with MSD and Corrections
• Redesign, procurement and implementation of Sustaining Tenancies services
• Development and procurement of a Rapid Rehousing trial
• Design and management of the Local Innovation and Partnership Fund
• Design of a framework and innovative procurement process to trial a new single site supported housing product, working in partnership with Kāinga Ora
• Supporting the development of housing and homelessness sector body services, building sector capability and capacity and enabling the influence of people with lived experience
• Supporting strategic policy and leading design thinking in the youth, emergency, transitional, supported housing and Māori led housing support spaces
• Supporting development and application of HUDs recent re-structure, including developing understanding of the Service Design and Operational Policy functions
